Many have been wondering how the inclusion of two cores would alter overclocking. Well we found that getting to 2.7GHz with the 4800+ was easy. No bumps in voltage nor extreme cooling was necessary. In fact it seems to have topped out at just over 2.7GHz just like the FX55 did in our air cooling overclocking tests. Heat did not seem to be an issue as the CPU barely reached 40 degrees Celcius. In fact the Venice cores also are very cool running as they all run in the 30s and under 100 degrees Fahrenheit under normal testing which we are quite happy to see. The A8N-SLI Deluxe AMD provided us with was a bit limited in overclocking options, and we used a stock cooler. We believe it may just be possible to reach the 3GHz marks that some Venice cores are doing.
