athlon xp 650 mhz and quake 4 experiment

hi guys.
just an interesting thing. for your comments.

While my athlon xp tbred at 1900mhz(9.5 x200) plays quake 4 at 1024x768 4 X AA smoothly, i was surprised to find that the same proccessor at 6.5 x100 (600mhz) also does the same. with only a little noticable lag!

Makes me think about how much cpu does one really need!

Let me get back with some figures fps etc for a clearer picture.

the difference will be noticeable when playing a CPU heavy game such as CSS or hl2. Try playing that with both the speeds and you will definitely notice a difference. But this is interesting stuff..........

wat is the othe configuration ..... i mean motherboard, ram and graphics etc

ram is 512 x2 ddr 400 and graphics is 6600 gt agp 128 mb xfx with stock speeds

wat resolution are u playing ..... try it will smallest possible like 640x480 and keep all details to low .....
