guessing it will be an immediate answer to 9600gt perhaps with a price tag faar lower than the 4 series maybe

Maybe they are doing this

Below 110$ HD 3850

Between 120-150$ 3870

Between 160-200$ 3950

either it's a misprint or this card is the one to take on 8800GT or 4870 is not happening and 48XX series is not producing expected results so ATI is lowering expectations and launching 4850 as 3950, 4870 as 4850 and working furiously to sort out its probs and will launch the real 4870 when it's ready.

:S

I personally hope second one is true

IMO the HD 3950 been little faster than the 3870 will the pittled against the 8800GT ..so i expect to see it in the $150 mark..I guess the HD 3870 will be Eoled and the HD3850 will be pushed sub $100 to compete against the 9600GSO

Jus my opinion.

rv670 a11 revision goes as 3850 and 3870

a12 is usually the release candidate but for rv670 a11 worked nice

a12 maybe the higher clocked 3950 aimed at midrange else it can be even a gigabyte only design with 3870 higher clocked + 1gb memory

however line up looks like this

100-3850 512mb

120-3870 ddr3

140-3870ddr4

160-3950 ddr3 with 950mhz(my source not confirmed) core clock

the same thing that pczilla and nordichardware thought that 900mhz rv770

and yes 9800gt (re branded 8800gt) will be fiddling with this 900-950mhz rv670

and 4850 fighting 9800gtx
ati keeping rv670 for lower g92 chips as they are very cheap to produce and clocks much higher with a12 revision

Interesting, more confusion about the new cards :P

Cant wait till they remove those NDA's and we finally get some proper info :)
