Graphic Cards Ati X1800xt Flicker

I have a very simple Q.

1. Is it normal for X1800XT cards to flicker on startup. I bought the card recently and see the flicker everytime just before the login...

2. It also flickers everytime I go to the Catalyst control panel...

IS THIS NORMAL.:huh: :huh: :huh: :( :( :(
 
Happens to my X800XL also.

I guess its just a Windows thing.

Doesnt happen while started CCC though :S.
 
it happens with my ATI X550 too before the ATI icon appears in the task bar so dont worry.

I think it is.. i got an ati card, it happens...not noticable much once u get used to it
 
it flickers alright. Even on x1900xt.

For me this solved the flickering.

go to CCC > display options.

There click on Manual detection only.

yes...I have never used ATI cards....

Yea definitely quite normal, happens to my card as well. Even when i first got my card i was perplexed why it flickers so much :S

Ill try that out funky. thanks for the fix :D
 
The fix does not solve very initial first flicker for some people.

But as you must know after 1-2 flickers screen again goes blank sometimes or flickers just before CCC icon is loaded to taskbar. That is prevented by this.

Give it a try. people are getting mixed results.
