ATP3 queries

hi,
m from baroda.
m plannin to get a new speaker set....m baffled on wt to choose...:S
an mx5021 is like 7.6k the best price i got:(
morevoer i heard the newer lot of mx has dropped in terms of quality...:huh:
and i got a quote of 2.5k for the ATP3(yea and not the vs4121)

So should i go with the atp3 or not??.....is it loud enough??...i want some thing loud n good for listenin to rock n metal kinda music(top priorities)

also was keen on edifier c3 but they arent available locally:@

the current speaker set is a 5.1 with 6w/channel rms and 16w woofer n i feel thts too low for ma listenin....while atp3 is also 6w/channel and 18w woofer

The question is Is the ATP3 worth taking @2.5k and for my requirements
or should i choose somethin else??.....
 
depending on your room size and the fact that you wanna listen to death/heavy meta ATP3 might be able to fullfill ur needs. I have it, they suffice for me coz i barely ever use it more than 40% volume. The bass is good, speakers have good build quality, woofer and speakers are "downfiring" so they tremble my bed/windows even in moderate volumes....... for 2.5k they are good.....
 
Do u have SBS 5.1 speakers or inspire ? i had the SBS A500 and it sucked . inspire ones are better . but i dont think ATP will be much improvement over ur 5.1 , it will give almost same output .only MX5021 or Z-2300 will be good upgrade , and 7.6k for MX5021 is too much . try asking someone else to ship them to u , it should be under 6.5k . i got my Z-2300 for 7300 few days back and they rock :ohyeah:
 
mx pricin has gone up...was at 6.2k odd..i got quote of 6.9k+shipping from rahul...in baroda its 7.6k...:@
yea i hav the sbs 580...thts wts ma question lies...i want it to b loud...n since the satellites share same rms power with the atp3...m doubtful.

yea , atp3 not good upgrade if u want loud and powerful . if u want powerful speakers then get Z-2300 , even on 1/3rd volume its 2x louder than SBS , and subwoofer is very poweful too :D
 
I doubt if build quality has gone down that much. I think you're referring to verma's case. I think it was just the lack of break in. All speakers sound better as they age :)
 
Hows the edifier c3??...some one bought it recently for 4.7k..tht thing weighs 16.5kg shipping to baroda will b a big prob..m totally confused on this..Is the z2300 good for listenin to rock n metal??...coz imo it doesnt giv tight bass as mx or gmx but rather gives some kinda boom boom....correct me if m wrong.....looking for more input..
 
Extend your budget, get Z2300, nothing in 2.1 can beat them. You will love death/heavy metal music on them. Either dont complain with current speakers

or spend money and get Z2300. 200 RMS is pretty powerful.
 
^^it varies from person to person....personally even i feel tht no doubt the z2300 has serios 200w rms....but the bass is more like boom...i want tightness thumpy ones....and even in z2300 no tweeters to seperate highs....which mx does....mx only has probs with mids....else mx has everythin..:)
 
^True, i believe in listening to the speakers before buying, some like heavy bass, some like high pitches etc etc.....

maybe OP can have a demo of both before deciding.
 
heh, I have a 12" sub + 2 8" front woofers, I have bass and more boom than i need. Nowadays I run my floorstanders alone and keep my sub off. when i was in college , even I used to think, how could more bass hurt :P

turns out it can, if it comes to a question of quality vs quantity

having said that , me choosing quality is a personal matter, I'm sure there are others who may choose the other way round :)

^^ thats me :D .. 16.6 kg to be precise+ the weight of the damn huge box makes it around 22kg !!!.. its in stock in alfa now- again ..
 
^^sad fr me....it wud cost a bomb for me to ship it to baroda...:(...else i wud hav to get someone to do it for me:D....n the price is 4.7 rite??..
