My cousin's owned the last 2 e class models and we malayalees love Benz. we do.
But this time around he is going for the A6..rather than the new E... so Audi is pretty much great.
As far as i see Audi and BMW are more for people who like to drive rather than sitting in the rear seat.

Today, there is not much to differentiate the three brands in terms of prestige. Audi's reputation is equal to the other two. However, in my opinion, where it loses out is in the fact that it is not defined by any one particular parameter.
The BMWs are always fun to drive. Mercs have the best ride quality. Audi is kinda 50-50.
However, in India, the new A4 has street presence like nothing else. No 3 series or C class will look that good on the road.
Audi is ahead of Merc and BMW in China and in some markets in Europe as well.

Anyway, I've always liked the fact that Audi is more of a silent competitor compared to the rest. You know its got class, quality and performance (in that order) but it isn't in-your-face!
And those day-time running LEDs on the newer AUDIs are simply awesome! It just commands a look.

Over in the US, Audis are typically associated with spirited or sporty cars, much like BMW. The RS models are highly valued and typically in higher demand than the equivalent ///M cars from Bimmer.
Audi has the best interiors of any car period. While a 3 series looks like a dual camel hump gone wrong, the A4's interior is perfect form married with function.
