PC Peripherals Audigy 1 or SBLive 24-bit

Hi,

Please tell me which one is better:
Audigy 1 (OEM) or SBLive 7.1 24-bit.
I'm not going to use it for gaming, recording or watching DVDs.
I only care about the quality of music.
I'll be hooking it up with a 2.1 speaker set (most likely ATP3) and a pair of headphones. So 5.1 or 7.1 - doesn't matter either. All I need is two stereo outputs.
I've heard that Audigy 1 is way better than SBLive 5.1, and from what I've read on TE, there's not much difference between SBLive 7.1 and Audigy2 ZS (in terms of music quality!). But I've never seen any comparison between an Audigy 1 (OEM) and SBLive 7.1.
Under normal circumstances an SBLive is no match for an Audigy but this case is different. I hope someone will be able to help me. Thank you.

Audigy over SBLive any day as it has slightly better DAC.

Audigy 1 will give you EAX acceleration i.e EAX 3.

Sblive 24 bit would be better than the A1 for music, since it has a redesigned PCB board and a high end DAC.

Go for an used A2 ZS if you can, gives you best of both worlds.

So as far as music is concerned, SBLive 24-bit is better than the Audigy 1?

go for the Audigy Value 7.1 24-bit, it uses a CA106-DAT much better than Audigy 1. Costs the same as that of a SB Live 7.1 24-bit...which infact uses the same CA106-DAT.
