Audigy Value woes

Hi guys,
Got a frend's Audigy Value as a stop gap card till my xonar arrives. This was aorking fine in his rig, however it simply refuses to be detected in mine. :S

My config: M2N-E, 4000+, Asus 8800GT 1 GB, XP SP2, 2GB DDR 667 Tscend.

I disabled the onboard audio, tried changing slots, but no luck.

The dev mgr shows it as unknown device, and creative driver installer says there's no supported creative h/w in there.

Shoud i reset the BIOS or upgrade it, so that it clears the IRQ mappings and other crap already associated with earlier add-on cards in the same slot (Had a creative Vibra just before i inserted this).

Any suggestion, brickbats are welcome.:)

^^m havin same card same drivers on a8n-e....try swappin the card onto different slots....did u remove all the drivers related to vibra??...use drivercleaner pro to remove all creative drivers...reset the card into a slot n try now.

@greenie: Yup the card was working, i pulled it out myself from the pal's box. I tried it again yesterday in his box, works like a charm.

Will update the bios of my M2N-E, and see if it works, Sad I have both machines on nf570Ultra, so cudnt test on any other box.

Got the audigy to work!!

All it was needed was to change "Plug and Play OS" to "No" in the bios. Had run into a similar trouble with a DLink LAN card a few years back, and this has solved it. So thought of trying the same here and LO! it works.

Now Greenie can you tell me how to extract maximum juice outt this baby? Your guide was definitely worthwhile for my onboard, however is there a way I can have some ASIO on this? It does have h/w buffers, so whats the best shot?

@Greenie: Thanks its better now.
I stopped ASIO4ALL today, and shifted back to DS with the card configured to spew out 24/96.

you really dont need ASIO. just resample to 96k and output at 24 bit in foobar.

if you have spare time , try softmodding it :P

Sounds good to me, searched around and stumbled upon a Extremeoverclocing forums article elucidating this process. However no one there have confirmed it works with the audigy value as well.

Any clues?
