Graphic Cards Audio output through HDMI problem.

I recently purchase a Asus GT 520 card so that I could use HDMI for my TV.

Picture is perfect but I'm not getting any sound from the TV.

Motherboard : XFX 650i Ultra

I dont have an external sound card and am using the onboard sound for the PC Speakers.

In my "playback devices" it shows me "Nvidia HDMI Audio Output" but it says "not connected"

I checked online and it says it should show "connected" as long as the HDMI wire is attached. I even changed the HDMI wire and checked but it still shows it as not connected.

Updated my onboard sound drivers and nvdia GPU drivers as well.

Any suggestions ?

Please check the attachment to see the existing setup.

I had the same problem but with my HD5770, problem was that my drivers were i guess corrupted and audio output via hdmi was disabled. Try updating again Sometimes corrupted drivers are downloaded. Then post back.

downloading older (285.38) and checking ..

no luck .. still shows the same "nVidia High Definition Audio : Not plugged in" ... out of ideas.

Try doing what vivek sir said, go to Control panel>Sound> Disable on board. and right click on HDMI audio option and set it as default. Hope this helps

disabled onboard audio ...

the "set as default" option is greyed out on the HDMI output as it says "not connected"
