If you are looking for a DVD player, there is one model available in JVC with an inbuilt screen, bluetooth et all. Its a real value for money system (thats what my installer tells :P). It costs around 22k in grey market.

Speakers for the front, you get a component set of speakers. you can select from JBL, Infinity, Hertz etc according to your budget and liking.

For the rear, you can get a coaxial from the same series as the front speakers. you need not get oval speakers as you are going to have sub.

I have a swift with some basic audio setup, you can check it if you want.

thanx a lot gmano i am not techy in car audio's so if u could post the components separatley tat would be great i mena the exact specs and model nos

hmmmm did quiet a lot of research on this when buying the audio system for my swiftfew months back

..but my budget was only 25k ..cause ive always felt that no matter how much u spend u just dont get that quality sound and effect in a car..automobiles were never made to listen to music .

anyways for 40-45 k..you can get some really nice stuff from JBL,infinty, hertz and all.

dont go for Sony at any cost.

coming to the system

1)get a pair of component speakers for the front.swift holds

5.5\6 " speakers .. (i am not sure)

component speakers = mid range+tweeter+crossover. (set of 2 (left +right)

2)for the rear get a 9 X 6 " oval speakers.from JBL\Hertz

3)incase you need tight bass get a 10/12" sub fitted in an enclosure.

or if you want some boom boom kind of bass you get tube subs ..and all

i would say go with the one fitted in enclosures..

4)you will need a 4 channel amp for the front+rear.and a mono\2channel amp to drive the sub.

incase it shoots your budget just get a 2channel amp +mono amp for front and sub. and connect the rear's directly to the payer.

5)about the player ..i really dont know much about the dvd player's but ive heard that JVC makes some value for money head units ,with USB support and all. but that will be quiet expensive and wont leave much cash for the other stuff.

incase you want the normal single din mp3 players .Pioneer makes really good one's like the 7950 UB. which has USB support and all.

i am laying more stress on USB\external PMP support cause i got the 6950 IB which doesnt have direct USB and now its very boring to burn cd's just for the car..as i burn most of mu backup of music on dvd which my player doesnt play.

i hope youve got a idea of the total ICE (In car entertainment)

for the best recommendations it would be better to ask Sam/Low_bass_maker et etc.on Team-bhp . or just follow the link above.

the total split of budget should be something like this.

Head unit-10-13k (20-22 K If dvd)

front components-7-8k

rear co axial (9 x 6)- 4-5K

sub-5-7k

4ch.+ mono block-7k+ 3-4k

here's a totally JBL'ified system which u may get..but i guess for 40 k u can better stuff not sure.

Front doors: GTO 607C components

Rear: GTO 937s in a wooden tray

Sub: CS1204T

Amp: GTO 75.4 + monoblock.

HU - Pioneer 7950 UB

PS:

good wiring and installation is one of the most important part of a ICE system

.see to it that you get it installed from a professional with good quality branded wires. set aside atleast 2-3k for wiring ,installation maybe done free of cost if all the stuff is taken from the same shop.

why is no one talking about damping ? if you want the type of noise isolation that the EP 630's give , you need to have a lot of damping...

just check out TeamBHP that's the place to visit! . go through various threads. search function is much better than TE's  j/k

yeah i forgot to mention that along with the wiring damping is also very important..

i guess u get some damping sheets in the doors for the isolation ..but only most of the professional installers do it..if you go to a normal car accessories

they dont even know what is damping

yeah Team-bhp is really good..but your bound to get confused with the options available ..and their are 75 % chances u will increase your budget after going through the 100's of thread on t-bhp regarding ICE..

it happend with me too increased it from 15 k to 25 k.

What faheem suggested is a good option.

if you want good Sound Quality, look for a Alpine HU.

Also, you may not need two amps. One four channel amp will be enough.

Instead of getting oval speakers, get a regular round coaxial speakers. You can fit in the stock location.

Get good cables for installation.

off topic: man i spent like 8k on my swifts music system a yr an a half back an got scolded by my dad thrice for tat.. (got a sony hu+ 2 pairs of sony 170wt round speakers)

wonder wat his reaction would hav been if id got somethin for 30-40k.. hehehe

anyways doesnt any1 else think its a lotta money 2 spend on a car music system??

hmm depends from person to person...my dad got convinced with 20-25k..after i told him about the advantages..of component over co-axials for the front..and all.

there are people who spend like amount which is more than the cars price just for the ICE..such systems do sound mind blowing ..but then i feel spending 3-4 lakhs and all on car audio is not really that good..i would better buy some high end floor standers and a amp+sub for home audio with such moolah..

the acoustics in a room are much better than that for a vehicle.

everyone has his own liking..some people who love there cars and spend most of the time with it are really crazy about those car audio systems..and love that booom boom..

for family cars..a normal good sounding setup is more than enough.

^wise decision. You will get a lot of good input there.

Also, look at Illusion speakers.
