Thats when one of the guys in our batch, a pracitcal thinker proposed an alternative solution. He said he would buy all three devices, put them in a small room and hire a guy to operate them, The room will have a small slot that will act as a input area. All you have to do is insert the media into the input slot, the person inside will see what needs to be done and the end result will that you will get your media projected on the screen. Believe me this worked out to be a cheaper solution even if you intend to use that solution for quite some years.

This is exactly my direction of thought. In a country with a billion people, half of whom are homeless, labor is cheap especially unskilled or semi skilled labor of this sort.

It doesn't make much sense to replace what can be done effectively and cheaply by a human with something machine processed. In India, it might be much cheaper to actually employ a cook who does all this for barely anything instead of building a machine to do the same. This is the reason why many things such as washing machines/dryers/vacuum cleaners/automatic car washes etc are not that popular in India.

However compare that to a developed country and tables turn. Labor is very expensive and anything that can replace a human is more than welcome :P.

Well the idea is not bad ! Maybe I should get working on it ! But the cost of the product will be an issue, and so will be the safety.

Also, food is not a process of mixing ingredients, it is a process of adding the correct ingredient in the proper amount at the right time. Also, everyone doesn't cook the same dish in the same way. All these things need to be looked at, while trying to build such a product.

I am not saying its impossible, but an automatic multipurpose cooker which makes all kinds of dishes is not practically possible right now, else all those chefs would have gone out of business !

Ofcourse things needed to be added in right proportion at the right time.

Noone can include all kinds of dishes... Atleast Biryanis, Pulavs, Dal Fry, Butter chicken, chicken Curry, Fish curry...about a dozen pupular dishes.

Alright I stop...:P

There r vending machines in Japan which do some of the features u want. They just have a built in microwave in them. You pick the food u want.. and in 30 secs or so.. it comes out.

But its mostly the same precooked stuff u get here locally. Its just that its automated better there :P

Keep a list of all restaurants/hotels who provide home delivery.
-Pick up menu of the place that serves what you feel like eating
-Choose stuff
-Call and place your order
-Stuff to eat delivered in 20-45 minutes (faster than you can make it at home when taking preparation time into account)

:hap2:

if you are in big cities like madras ,bangaloor ,..etc AFAIK you can get your food with a simple call ?20-30 mins the food will reach?.thats what I experienced when in Bangaloor and Madras. :)

This is where you need to say "Stop" to your geekyness..

gamers are not geeks.they are *simply* gamers.so is "h/w when got a month or so and throw-it-off specialists." :D

hire a cooking lady who will cook whatever you want (best idea imo), become friends with ur neighbor who has a mom, give them gifts, and go for home cooked food to them :P

I heard of a Roti maker for Rs 30000, one just have to add flour and water to it, rest is automatic.
They are generally used where large number of Rotis needed.

If gamers and hardware enthusiasts are not geeks as per u, who are geeks then - the ones who write code using Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V eh??
