Automating Torrents

[SOLVED]Automating Torrents

I use Mozilla Firefox 3.6 as my browser and IDM as my Download Manager. I download torrents through uTorrent.

Problem : What I want is that whenever I download torrents they should directly open up in uTorrent and not go through IDM and that I have to download the torrent separately and then open it up with uTorrent.

Things I have tried : 1> Installing Flashgot and fiddling around
2> Trying to search for the place in IDM option that it by passes *.torrent files so that I can directly configure this in Firefox.

Clients like Transmission and uTorrent have a feature called "Watch" folder, where they can monitor a folder for new torrents and start downloading it immediately. Just have IDM download the files to the watch folder.

EDIT: Looks like I misunderstood your questions. Ignore :)

You could try this: Open Firefox >> Tools >> Options >> Applications tab >> See if there is an entry for torrent file types. If there is one, you can change the default action in the same window.

Nope not there.

Thanks but I found a work around. I just need to alt+shift and click to directly start utorrent with the torrent loaded into it.

This is what I did

1>Remove firefox integration in firefox.

2>Goto any torrent site download a torrent when the firefox window comes up chose the option do this automatically with the filetype and chose uTorrent as the program

3> Install flashgot configure IDM as default manager.

4> Make downloads autostart on IDM but and make alt+shift+click as your Flashgot bybass.

And, done.
