Backing Up SMS

Hi,
I have an old Nokia 3120(series 40) i'm giving it away to my cuz... i have stored some personal messages, which i wanna save on my PC. I need a software in which i can save it on the PC and be able to read it too.The nokia PC suite saves it on the PC but its un-readable. I've also tried a software called Mobtime Cell phone manager,but its very buggy since it mixes all the messages. Anyother software available?

Although i have not checked out whether you can read the sms'es on your computer, but it is the next best suite after Nokia PC Suite.

If you backup using Nokia PC Suite, you can restore the SMS'es to your new phone, provided it it a Nokia Phone.
 
I've tried all of them...But need to save the messages only...that too in readable format...Any other suggestions?

I have n81 and pc suite vr. 7.0.7.0

I can manually browse through the messages and copy them in windows explorer and they are readable, and export them through nokia communications center to .csv

I dunno if this vr. of pc suite is compatible with ur phone or not but this is want I do. try getting the latest build + communications center app.
 
Hey members i have nokia 6080, i'll also experiencing some kind of message transfer problem, may be u'll all help me,

I'll have the data Cable CA-42 & installed latest nokia PC suite V7, Everything seems to work fine, with PC Suite, except having access to sms's, i'll have around 90 text messages in my phone memory, but pc suite doesn't shows any message, shows 0 messages in message application of pc suite, In Files Manager f.i. when i try to see sms's, explorer freezes and doesn't responding...If trying to make a backup of sms... the program freezes too...i have taken backup of all the things including contacts, calander notes, entire C: drive of the mobile & its working fine but when i started taking backup of my massages after 1 minuite of processing it'll gives an error & doesn't backup my messages, Content Copier cannot copies messages...

Reading, sending & all sms fuctions in mobile works fine...

I dont know what to do, i need the backup of my messages..

Is there any possible solution? or Is there any free program that simply could save sms's from my 6080 to pc?
 
1. The latest Nokia PC Suite does not show SMSs via the File Manager. It shows SMS via the Nokia Communication Center.
2. Go to nokia.com/pcsuite to update to the latest version of Pc Suite.

I am not sure wheter 6080 supports the Nokia Communication Center. Also since it is a S40 phone, i think Content Copier would also not support SMS backup.

For a 3rd party application, try Oxygen Phone manager.

My phone nokia 3120 is series 40, and it works... one thing good about nokia is their software works on older models too... and considering the nokia 6080 is later model than mine, it should work.

The suite does not support picture messaages, other than tht it should work...what you do is you open the communications centre and press refresh... it will then display the messages.thts how i got it to work on my phone
