Backup software for laptop

I had created a backup for my dell laptop using the stock datasafe app, but that will restore it only to the factory state. to make recovery disks to restore to its current state, i need to cough up 2k to buy its pro version.

Being the cheapskates that we are, is there anything out there that can do this for free using a GUI

acronis and norton ghost are the best ... i have personally used acronis and its quite good

both are paid

use comodo back up.its free and very effective.there are a lot of freeware alternatives too.

Which OS are you using? If it is Windows 7, then you don't need a 3rd party software. There is an inbuilt data backup tool that can create an image of the C drive, as well as backup other drives.

i got a quite good freeware on download.cnet. its weekly donwload is about 30,000.
its features are enough for laptop.
