Hello everyone!
creating this thread just for general awareness.
many of you might be already aware of the antics of the purported scammer 'bagittoday'. i recall getting something from them a long time back (it was a bag, or watch, or both, i don't exactly remember), but the experience was not so good is what i can definitely recollect. either it was because they were selling an already cheap watch by marketing it as heavily discounted, or/and the bag i got was of poor quality, something like that. anyway, they seem to have come a long way down the hill since then (lots of reports about scamming people)!
just a few minutes back, i got a call from them out-of-the-blue after so many years; a lady named 'Shikha' called me up to tell me that my name had been selected for a heavy discount on a products-package worth ~9.5k (wow! knowing how 'stellar' is my fate, am bound to get such offers/rebates!)! hearing 'bagittoday' uttered from her mouth, i was already 'meh!', but still, allowed her to go on and speak and explain to me about the offer (i usually let these reps speak and not interrupt discourteously). she said that i would get a discount of 73% on the package, and additionally would get a code to be entered on some portal, by doing which i would get an assured gift (laptop, cellphone, LCD-LED TVs, etc.; she put more emphasis on the latter. hehe). upon finishing, she insisted me to place the order. i said i would first like to see an email on the thing, to which she replied that you can avail the offer only via telephonic-conversation, and i replied, still, i would first like to see the email. she promptly sent me an email while keeping the call on hold; i checked, and the email took me to this link:
http://www.bagittoday.com/faces/til...=GRADHM&campId=5467&bcodeId=5467&by=telesales
(it seems you can avail the offer by placing the order online too).
in order to now obviate this supposed scam-attempt, i said that i don't need it, and will ask a friend, and if he needs it, i would then place the order, to which she said that she would then call me back in the afternoon. i said 'alright', and we both then hung up. obviously, am again going to say that my friend also doesn't need it, and what i don't need, i don't buy/place order for it (now what a lie!
)!
a quick treasure-hunt on google, and i find these 'gems'!
