what is an egg boiler? how is it special?
It needs only a small quantity of water and uses auto cutoff based on thermostat when the water dries up. So you don't have to set timers or monitor how long you're boiling your egg. Just switch it on and forget.

It came in very handy for me when I was living alone. I would just put the egg to boil when going to brush and by the time I toasted my bread, egg would be done.

That said, it's a very simple machine. There's a surface on which you put water. As long as there's water, the temperature doesn't exceed 100°C. When the water dries up, temperature rises, and thermostat cuts it off. That's it. Depending on how well done you like your eggs, you can vary the amount of water to achieve the desired result.

Honestly an egg boiler is one of the best purchase I made in decades. For someone who eats boiled eggs frequently, its a godsend. you get exactly same boiled eggs everytime. it takes much less energy and time as you don't need to boil a ton of water everytime.
