0-20k Basic laptop from the US

• What's your Budget? (e.g. >30K, not more than 50K etc.) - 200-300 dollars

• What will be your primary usage for the notebook be? (e.g. web surfing/office apps/Casual Gaming) - web surfing, mail, MS Office, Tally

• What size and weight considerations do you have? (e.g. Do you want a 17" desktop replacement or you want an ultraportable 12" or something in between) - desktop replacement, portability not an issue

• Any brand that you prefer, or any brand that you detest? (e.g some would prefer to stay away from Acer or Dell) - Hate Dell

• Any other considerations? (e.g Battery life; Widescreen/non-widescreen; Glossy/Matte screen etc.) - battery not an issue

• This is for my wife in her office. She has a Macbook Air for home and travel, so this is for basic office use. Has to be Win based as our hospital software runs only on Win.

Any reason for staying away from Dell?
Will you be buying it in India? Or abroad? (Asking since you mentioned price in Dollars)

Had bad issues with Dell. Great service but too many issues which required the service.

Buying in the US.

Was thinking of this.

Oh. Sorry. Missed it.

A colleague's friend bought the Asus X200 in India. It had issues within 6months. He may have been unlucky though.
