Budget 21-30k Basic PC @20-22k, which can be upgraded later

This is for a friend. He has an existing setup, which is 11-12 years old. He wants to use the monitor, KB+mouse and DVD writer from his old setup.

Existing setup is 11-12 years old, Celeron processor with 512 MB DDR RAM

Your proposed processor is not compatible with your proposed motherboard. Since the low-cost processors of Intel's current generations have not yet been released, for Intel you will have to wait until they are released (expected September, good availability in India might be in October). Last generation Intel is not recommended as it is a dead end.

But even otherwise, given your low budget, don't consider Intel. Get an AMD APU , FM2 socket motherboard. Check configs in other threads. You will face no issues with your intended use. You will likely be able to upgrade to another APU 3 years from now - inreasing processor and graphics ability.

Thanks Amit for your suggestion. My friend has assembled the PC for 23K, will update this thread with his config once I hear from him.

Socket FM2 is another dead-end. The "Richland" APUs will be the last this platform will see. Steamroller/Kaveri shifts to a new FM2+ socket and will not work in FM2.
