Hi guys,

I am looking for a wireless modem for home use to connect about 2 laptops and a desktop. I dont want it to support the 802.11 Draft n. The normal 54mbps ones are good enuf for me. Suggest me a good vfm modem.

It should also support my ADSL net connection

i am also looking for same....

since ur from Bangalore.. pls let me know approx prices here ..
as i checked Linksys ones are 5k +

Your cheapest bet would be BSNL type II modem which will cost you around 1600 or you can buy Beetel basic wireless modem/router for around 2k in market(dont know exact price).

If you already have an ADSL modem then you DONT need to buy an ADSL wifi :P just buy any cheapo wifi router and connect it to your adsl modem and you are ready. WCR-G54 will also do.

BP try searchin in SP road for the buffalo whr G125, its an old buffalo but its better than the WCR ones. You might get this for 1.7k ish :P

ya sandy .. i know it..
i am planning to move to a power solution which runs router (ADSL) for 6 hr with backup power (7 AH battery)

if i use 2 devices, my backup time will come own
also failure of one device while block all usage
(if) when i replace modem , i will send up spending same as ADSL router..

Even i dont want to have 2 devices. ADSL modem/router is what i am lookimg for. The cheapest one apart from the beetel i could find was a Belkin F5D7632ak4A ADSL Modem with Wireless-G for 2.8k from primeabgb
