I got a Dell inspiron 14R Core i3 base model, without gfx card actually I wanted the battery backup to be somewhat okay.. It has 6 cell lithium battery. The problem is when I am on backup the charge drops by 1% every 3 minutes. I have power saving enabled and brightness is set to the least. WiFi is turned off. I am running Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and I just use internet explorer 9 while browsing note that I don't use more than one tab most of the time. Do you guys think the backup I am getting is fine?

try calibrating your battery by giving it full charge and draining it upto 20% left ... cycle it around 10 times if situation improves ... else call for warranty , one of the best things dell has to offer.

1%~3mins=100%~300 mins.i.e 5 hrs!!!!!that is damn good battery back up i say for an i-3 lappy in real world conditions.....now am i reading something wrong here!!!!

I am losing my heart as I forgot to charge my battery continuously for 12 hours. As dell recommends. I was all excited about my first laptop that I overlooked the manuals and stuff :( though the moment I came to know about this thing, I plugged in the power cable and used the laptop like the whole or most of the day. I have tracked the backup, I know I know it's insane, but still, here it goes.
