Hi all,

Bought a refurbished asus g73sw laptop recently.

Today I decided to leave it unplugged just to make sure the battery would discharge and charge normally. While on battery power, there was a faint smell of burning electronics.

All temps were 40c or less.

Does anyone know if this is an issue? Or is it just because my battery hasn't been used yet so its breaking in and the smell will disappear soon.

That is a common occurrence with new laptops and PCs. Might be the same for refurbished models depending upon what was changed.

Sorry bro, have never experienced such a issue with my laptops. I had two of them brand new, they do heat up a lot in starting but nothing as a burning smell.
