Hello people,
A bit of background first, I have been working in maharashtra for over 6 years now. I hail from gujarat. My younger sister has just completed 12th with PCM and gujarat board and has also given IIT-JEE. I have recently lost my father and was thinking that may be i could relocate my mother and sister to my place in maharashtra from gujarat.

She is a above average student but since we lost our father just one month before exams, she might score less than what she is capable of. All in all i expect 70 percentile for the boards and 120 ish for IIT JEE

I wanted to know what options do we have if she wants to pursue higher studies in maharashtra. BE/BTech in particular. Preferable locations would be pune and mumbai since they are pretty close to where i work.

For BE i would suggest colleges in Pune / Mumbai only. I might be wrong but my personal perception is that IT companies (assuming your sister wants to pursue career in IT) look for more people in colleges from these two cities / universities.
Also if she indeed gets into IT, you can have her work in Pune where she has plethora of IT companies so she will be near you too.

For Engineering Admissions (BE), the marks/ranking from entrance exams is considered. For candidates from other states, I think the AIEEE score will be considered valid as there is a percentage of seats reserved for AIEEE candidates. Students from Maharashtra apply on the basis of MH-CET scores.

According to the entrancecorner website, AIEEE has been replaced with JEE main, so your sister can use the JEE Main scores to apply. Please confirm this.

It will be better if you get in touch with a career counseller to understand the formalities and requirements. The best way would be to find someone who has joined an engineering college last year and getting the application brochures, website links so that you can go through them.
