@ blr_p-
i may have failed to explain it properly.
the serial no on psu and bill matched- coz it was made-to-order- he is not that stupid
I did not mean it in that way. I meant when you realised that the serial# was off on the PSU itself that you did not take it up with him

Now you clarified that you did several times, that too over 2 weeks.

I agree it sucks when ppl you know and seemingly trust pull a fast one, it defnitely hurts that more than if it was just a stranger.

Personally, i would think was being made a fool off and feel quite insulted :(

Please note that a product sold earlier by one dealer long back with bill wont have renewed warranty with a newer fake bill.
Distros are not idiots- they have records of serials and consignments just as dealers do.
An old serial number psu with very new purchase date will create doubt just as it did in my mind and they will check record for which dealer the consignment had gone to.
Whoever presents the new bill gets on the wrong side of the law for forgery.
It's a grave mistake imho- a criminal offence maybe- and that would have got the buyer in a major fix.
Outrageous !!

hmm. Comptel Solutions.

Its good that vriship confessed, it takes courage to admit ones mistakes and its the first step to improvement, and a lesson learnt not too late.

But I'd watch out for any bill from Comptel if they are so amenable to create such bills (provided the stamp and signature are not forged too.)

I hope he is given a -ve rating. In the past too, he was not transparent about his sale.

Only when asked, did he say he was second owner! These are imp facts which need to be mentioned in the opening post.

sorry bro no offence meant but i wont agree to you even bikey had told me that there is no need to mention that there is no need to mention that whom u got it from. because ppl take it as a reason for lowballing.. and it was not like that i tried whom had i got it from. when asked upon, i immediately accepted it.

@bikey
the last day when i told u everything in the evening, in the morning i called up so many times just to tell u the truth and not with the reason of again making an excuse. when u called me up in the evening, and hinted me urself, i coudnt immediately collect guts to tell u. but within some time when i did, immediately called u up and told u everything.

Re: Caution: Please exercise extreme caution and be very alert while buying anything

In case vriship & comptel do not realise this:

Forgery/ Faking a Bill with VAT/CST/Serial Numbers/ Stamp etc. is actually a serious criminal offence. If this is brought up in front of the correct authorities atleast 4 clauses can be found for immediate action in courts.

TE'ites who have/ are studying the law can easily reel off the clauses off the top of their heads. To start with

IPC Section 420 : Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property.

IPC under Section 464 IT Act - Making a false document.

Laws -Indian Penal Code 1860

I wish you luck...

Re: Caution: Please exercise extreme caution and be very alert while buying anything

^^ Yeah but in case, lets imagine bikey bought it without checking and an unfortunate turn of events happen when its required to RMA the psu and when the distris check the bill- its bikey that faces the music, right?? Or is it the guy whose name is mentioned on the bill?

Re: Caution: Please exercise extreme caution and be very alert while buying anything

Respect @ Bikey. Not trolling. Pouring my heart.

If bikey can provide sufficient proof (NEFT etc details, messages/ conversations/ call records) that he bought from vriship then the heat will be on vriship.

In any event, comptel will take a big hit, as the bill is in its name. If however comptel puts it across that they never made this bill, then vriship goes for a toss, and comptel becomes a defending party rather than the accused.

Axeman,
you want to talk about bills and cheating? What about a case against sellers who don't issue bills? There are several sellers on TE itself who don't give bills. You turn a blind eye to that?
I'm very sure that E'ites who have/ are studying the law are well aware of this aswell.
We also also use IPC under Section 464 IT Act against all members here who buy stuff online and mark down the price to reduce customs duty.

Secondly if there is a case, the shop can easily fight this off by saying that it was a second sale. The shop can legally issue a bill for anything they sell. Used or new whatever they sell.
The shop can always show that the psu was resold. And the bill is a tax/vat bill. Govt doesnt care as long as they get their taxes.

And talking about cheating, Where was your post filled with the law and IPC sections when several buyers got cheated big time? There have been sellers who take money and disappear from TE never picking up calls or replying to PM's.

Yes he is at fault. vriship is ready to take back the psu and also admitted to what he did. Lets leave it at that!
I think Bikey has made his point. Other please don't start playing the blame game now.

I think enough has been said here.

Re: Caution: Please exercise extreme caution and be very alert while buying anything

The OP has said that he identified the scam quite early over the entire 2 week process of confirming and getting the psu and had proof too but just kept poking the seller to confess. He could have started the thread long back but didn't. Seems like his intentions were only to get the seller to realise the grave mistake he committed and caution any other people who may think getting a fake bill made is no big matter. Had any other person bought this, who would have needed rma a year or more down the line, i don't know what would have happened to the buyer- denial of rma would be minimal loss and a case of fraud if luck is bad. By then the seller may become untraceable anyways as this is a public forum and there is no guarantee of anyone's activity here.

Re: Caution: Please exercise extreme caution and be very alert while buying anything

I agree fully, at the same time, in my defence, I just started studying law. Hence I see Sections, Sub Sections, Evidences, etc day & night in everything I am coming across... :@
