Laptops Beep sound on bootup

Have a Lenovo R60.
the laptop makes a loud beep sound when turned on.(4 beeps in 3 cycles)
there is no booting up display.
but if the laptop is kept that way,i can hear it working but nothing shows up on screen.

the RAM was changed and so not issue related to that.
and its not a keyboard issue as i tried after disconnecting also.

havnt sorted it out and require assistance.

connect the laptop to external monitor and check for the display

checked it and still no display on external monitor.

might be the display chip has failed
