I have a Beetel 450 BX1 lying around, which is a ADSL Modem cum wifi Router. I am planning to use the same as Simple wifi Router.

I have a tata Photon + wireless internet connection, which is to be shared using the Beetel Router.

I have connected my PCs ethernet port to the one of the LAN ports in the Beeterl Router, I am able to open the routers web page in 192.168.1.1.

When I try to connect my mobile in wifi, my lan connection is PC is getting disconnected. I understand that there is some conflict.

I would appreciate some help to configure this router. Thanks in advance :)

Wierd, shouldn't happen. Is your pc ip set to auto or have you set the ip manually ?

When I set my PCs ip address manually, not able to access the internet. Even though the tata Photon + is connected to the net, not able browse in the PC.
There might be some conflict between tata Photon + 's ip and the PC's manually set ip?

gmano.

Go to your network connection property.

Right click on TATA's USB modem > properties > Sharing > tick 1st box. 2nd and 3rd as per your requirement. when you click OK. windows wil come up with dialogue that your LAN IP will be changed to 192.168.0.1. Click on Yes.

now Right click on LAN properties. TCP/IP. you will see that your IP address and Subnet is set manually.

192.168.0.1

255.255.255.0

Now if you want to access your beetel router. you can do that by adding gateway and addition IP in advance function.

Thanks for answering in the thread :D

I am using windows vista.

This is what I did

TATA wireless terminal --> View Status --> Properties --> Sharing --> enabled "allo other network users to connect through this computer's internet" --> OK

It did not show any dialogue box telling about the IP change.

My Router cum Modem and the PC is connected using a straight cable.

My Router cum Modem's default ip is 192.168.1.1, I am not able to access the router's home page.

Yes. you will not able to access the router page.

for that you have to add the gateway and IP in your local area connection property.

Right click on LAN properties. TCP/IP V4.

Ok here is my config to share my BSNL EV-DO. You can do the same config to yours.
