A lot of Seagate External drives are being sold on the forum, most of which are probably bought in india, and almost all being sold without invoice, but there are many which actually bought from the US,during black friday and such.

All Seagate Drives purchased from the USA,show warranty in India, but that is not the case.

AS you can see my drive was in warranty, but was rejected as a NVD (Not valid In India),but there is no way to differentiate these drives, from the ones purchased in India.

Be careful while purchasing,a lot of shady sellers out there, especially on ebay, snapdeal and such marketplaces, even here on Erodov, members who avoid posting full information, and dodging questions. (example : Dodging Questions : apparently he got his amazon drive RMA'ed in Mumbai)

IF i select any other country other than india while checking warranty , it shows :

Accel frontline manually got the warranty changed to NO.

Always ask for an invoice before buying seagate drives henceforth.

Yup. Avoid seagate like plague.

Thanks OP for posting this. This threads needs more attention and visibility.

Even i tried a seagate drive one and i had a really bad experience
it went bad in like an year and the replacement one also went kaput in no time
So No seagate for me
On the contrary i have used Hitachi drives and they have proven much better
I am still using them and they are working fine
Even WD is also reliable
But thats my opinion

WD is million times better, atleast service wise.
