PC Peripherals Benq 1640 review @ CDRInfo

^^ Why do u say so? Just a query cos i find cdrinfo reviews much more comprehensive than cdrlabs. Most cdrlabs reviews consist of 6-7 pages of which 3-4 are dedicated to crap like installation and whats included in the package instead of media testing on all possible media.
 
very comprehensive review indeed, havent been able to come across this in chennai yet though :(

Their methodology is flawed. Look at their transfer rate curves, why don't they show the media name in the CDSpeed transfer test? They used to run a warez and porno site, got shut down..
Also, their choice of reader is messed up.. they need to use a DVD burner like the NEC3500A or the 3520 as well, instead of just a DVD-ROM drive.
 
please someone tell me where in mumbai i can get the benq 1640 dvd writer, only the 1620 seems to be available with the benq dealer and other stores at lamington road :( if someone has purchased the 1640 in mumbai (with warranty and all), please let me know, i want to buy the drive asap :)
