Wanna get a backup number for diff city. I will only use it to receive calls like 1or 2 day in month. Which company is ok with no recharges done to maintain a number as long as its connected to network sometimes. Recharge once in 6 month also fine.

I believe, this amount is related to the incentive the agent gets.

i have airtel, will see. but that bsnl offer looks good too as bsnl will be a diff backup network
Makes sense to go with BSNL if you already have Airtel. These two have the widest coverage in India.
If i'm not mistaken, you can get a BSNL sim only at their offices/exchange.
