Best Broadband connection in Amritsar(urgent)

Hi TE,
As the tittle says, i need a good broadband connection in Amritsar (Punjab). A unlimited plan with at-least 512kbps speed, and guys its a bit urgent one of my friend need it urgent, so please reply as soon as possible :)

BSNL has pretty good service and speeds up here. BSNL BB UL750 is the best plan. I'm using it in Moga (100 kms from Asr.)

also, your friend might like to check out Airtel DSL Plans

@pratikb: ya i thought of this plan here it is .:Unlimited Home Only:. but am afraid of government service, because i have faced it :( and if someday i want to change the plan the changing procedure in BSNL is really horrible. i used Airtel for many years and still use it its simply best, service is A++, but the bad thing in Airtel is they don't have UL plan i mean UL for continuois one speed, every plan is like 512kbps till 5 or 10gb then 256kbps and 256kbps is really not enough, it can't even buffer the youtube video properly :(

@spawnfreak: don't have idea about BSNL service in Amritsar but in delhi(NCR) i faced many issues,ya that BB home UL 750 plan is really good but i don't wanna take risk on service, and i think Airtel broadband is not their in Amritsar.

BSNL in Punjab atleast has a very good service and i've been using the same BSNL BB since 2007.

AirTel is there in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Chandigarh and Patiala. How come not in Amritsar? Please check the Airtel DSL website for the same.

Another option is BSNL 3G or DoCoMo 3G

I used BSNL in Delhi ncr i.e faridabad.

only Chandigarh,Jalandhar,Ludhiana and Phagwara. no Amritsar :(

@TE: i searched on goolge there is one connect broadband but they don't have UL plan, so guys please post as soon as possible, my friend need connection before coming Thursday.

Connect broadband is good as well... they have UL plans in Rs. 555, 777, 999, 1111

I wanted to get their BB installed but they had some issues with G.T Road and they couldn't stretch their wire across the G.T Road. This was an year ago and thats when i last time checked the UL 1111, its a 2mbps UL I guess. Tell him to contact his area's HFCL connect office.

no UL plan in connect have a look Infotel ConnectBroadband :: Products & Services :: Home Users
all plans have differential speed.

hmmm.. that means their have changed the tariff

I'd suggest you BSNL BB UL750... I'm on it and the speeds are fantastic... normally, download speeds I get are anything between 60-64 kBps

Also, downtimes are rare! Have been on the same service since 2007. Never ever faced problems. I guess I can vouch for BSNL BB :)

BSNL BB 750ul plan was good but my friend also need ISD call service urgent and today my friend went to BSNL office in Amritsar they said ISD will take time around one month :( so no BSNL now.

@TE guys please suggest any-other broadband connection in Amritsar fast.

there are no more ISPs in Punjab. Except BSNL, AirTel, Connect. Other options you have is Cablewala's broadband service and 3G
