Time for another buying guide, and this time we set our sights on the best budget gaming laptops under Rs. 40,000. If you thought Rs. 40,000 was too less to grab a nice new laptop capable of playing games at medium settings, well think again! This guide will present you with various options including AMD's APUs as well as those with Intel Core 3rd generation micro processors. And once again, gaming on the small screen isn't that pleasurable, and hence only laptops with 15.6 inch displays have been included in this round up. Also, all the laptops come with Windows 8 64-bit pre-installed.
1. Samsung NP355V5C-S05IN
First up is the Samsung NP355 laptop. Part of the entertainment segment, this laptop packs an AMD APU and a 15.6 inch HD display to provide some smooth entry level gaming at a very affordable price.
Specifications
The laptop represents a really good value with it's budget price tag of just Rs. 33,490.
Samsung NP355V5C @ Rs. 33,490 - FLIPKART
This is the cheapest of the gaming laptops with a complete 1 TB HDD as well as Windows 8 OS included. You got a dedicated graphics card running in tandem with the IGP as well as 6 GB of RAM. AMD's quad core APU is pretty capable as well.
2. HP Pavilion G6-2301AX
The HP Pavilion G6-2310AX laptop comes pretty close to the Samsung laptop in price and specifications. For most, the specifications list is the same. In fact, this gaming oriented laptop actually packs half the storage (500 GB) capacity as of the Samsung laptop. However, HP adds value by including features such as a 2 GB graphics card, Altec Lansing Stereo Speakers and HD Audio, Dolby Advanced Audio v2 Sound.
Specifications
This laptop is heavier and has lesser rated battery back up than the Samsung one, however features such as the TrueVision HD Webcam and HP's LED display make up for the lesser (4 GB) of RAM and other trade offs. Windows 8 64-bit is present.
HP Pavilion G6-2310AX @ Rs. 35,490 - FLIPKART
For Rs. 35,490 this laptop again represents excellent value and is hence a part of our buying guide.
3. HP Pavilion G6-2231TX
The first entry into the budget gaming laptops round up with an Intel micro processor, the HP Pavilion G6-2231TX is a lookalike of the AMD APU based G6 laptop, only that it comes with an Intel chipset. Rest all premium features that are added by HP are present including the multi-touch track pad, the TrueVision HD web camera and the HD Brightview LED display as well.
Specifications
HP Pavilion G6-2231TX @ Rs. 37,087 - FLIPKART
Intel's processors are generally much faster than it's AMD counterparts, even if sometimes it's missing a core or two. With MS Win8 64-bit, this laptop is a great purchase for Rs. 37,087.
That ends the round up of laptops. However, there is one more laptop that we want to include, but doesn't meet the requirements set by us for this round up. It is the HP Pavilion G6-2313AX laptop. Packing the powerful AMD A10 chipset, this is the most powerful quad core with integrated graphics that money can buy (in this price range of course). However, the laptop comes without Windows 8 (DOS, install your own OS), which maybe okay with many, and hence it is included in this round up.
HP Pavilion G6-2313AX
The HP Pavilion G6-2313AX packs everything that you could wish for. A fast quad core (2.3 GHz) that Turbos upto 3.2 GHz (this is a AMD Trinity based APU like the A8 before this). 6 GB of DDR3 RAM should be more than adequate. The IGP gets a bump up with more GPU cores (384 compared to 256 in the previous models). A 1 TB HDD is included too.
Specifications
Really, all HP needs to do is throw in Windows 8 64-bit and price this laptop below Rs. 40,000 and call it a day. They've got a seriously good laptop at their hands and that too at a good price.
HP Pavilion G6-2313AX @ Rs. 38,520 - FLIPKART
Even then, this laptop for Rs. 38,520 is a great purchase.
If you are thinking that this is a sort of HP advertisement parade, stop right there. The only reason so many HP laptops made it to the round up is that they are actually good (user reviews as well) and HP has done a good job covering up this segment of the market with some really good products. In no way was this review biased or paid by any company to advertise their products as superior over competition's.
That being said, we sincerely hope you liked this round up and perhaps got some help on the way if you were looking to buy a laptop.
