Don't buy a Plasma. They are not produced anymore and you won't get spares in case of a failure. VU TV is quite good, but support is a question.

plasma tv are slowing being phased out i guess so what are the next best option to go for . vu tv seems like an okay brand how is the customer service in mumbai? at this price point does it matter to go for lg, samsung and sony is there really that much difference in picture quality?

Plasmas are completely phased out. Brands like LG/Sony would definitely be better when it comes to picture quality. Buying a VU TV depends on how much you are willing to compromise. If possible take a demo of all the TVs and decide.

I bought a VU TV after my Plasma died. Haven't checked others. VU TV is ok, but I've been using it only in the last week, so can't recommend wholeheartedly.

ohh great so you are a recent buyer.which model is it , if i may ask? compared to the plasma tv before are you satisfied with vu tv. where does the vu tv fall short? contrast?built quality?

Got this one. I didn't like the picture quality out of the box. Brought down brightness/contrast/sharpness a lot and the picture quality is now more than ok. Blacks are quite deep since this is a DLED. Upscaling is not up to the mark. 720p TV series (Friends) looked quite artificial.

I don't have any complaints wrt build quality. The TV is quite light. Needed two guys to dismount my Plasma, but this TV was mounted by the installation guy single handedly.
