Hi all,

I have shifted to Pune and planning on taking the following config.

Athlon64 AM2 3000+
ASUS M2NPV-VM
512 MB DDR2 533 Transcend RAM
160 / 250 GB SATA2 hdd (subject to pricing)

MicroATX cabinet with decent PSU for future dual core upgrade + half height low profile graphics card.

MS Intelli 1.1 mouse

Samsung 940BW / 941BW 19 inch widescreen LCD

Primarily going to use the rig for playing on STEAM and watching movies.

Any idea which dealer is the best?

Back in my home town, there used to be a single dealer who would quote consistenly lower prices than any other dealer.

Are there any such dealers in Pune?

Counting on feedback from everyone here.... :)

contact numbers? names? :)

address? :D

I just came to pune. been only a week. still getting to know the place.

I live near Aundh Annexe.

Hi,

I would recommend Ankita Enterprises for AMD CPUs. They are channel distributors
for AMD. They also deal with motherboard and graphics cards - maybe will even assemble a rig for a small fee. You will however, have to get software installed elsewhere. I found them to be quite trustworty and since they are wholesale dealers you will get a good deal.

Location : Behind Kulkarni Petrol Pump - (Near Alka talkies) - SadashivPeth - Pune
Contact Person : Mr. Vishwanath.

Directions from Aundh :
1. Take a rick to Deccan. Ask the driver to go Kulkarni petrol pump - (a famous landmark).
Just behind the pump you will find a lane which runs parallel to Laxmi Road. You will find
Ankita Enterprises there (Its a small shop).

I will try to get the contact nos.

Thank you very much guys.

But I think i will need more help!

I called sujata computers and these are the prices they quoted.

AMD64 AM2 3000+ -> 3650
ASUS M2NPV-MX -> 5200
512 MB DDR2 533 Mhz Transcend RAM -> 2900
160 GB SATA2 Seagate HDD -> 3000

Navtech mATX cabinet with 400W PSU (didnt tell which) -> 1700

They didn't have quote for the 940BW. Said they would give it next day.

I think the prices are too high compared to the prices given in the below link.

What say guys?

For justified prices and service contact Ishaan from Swaroop computers (9890199798). I personally know this guy and he is a really trustworthy fellow.

As far as Sujata Computers go... they are typical retailers who often don't know what they are selling. I have always found their prices on higher side. Your case is not very different.

there used to b another shop of BABA 1-2yrs back..
The name of the guy was VINOD ...
He gave the cheapest rates possible..
But guess he has moved on to another place...
If anyone has his contact let it be known

U can also try Stech Computers, Prabhat industrial estate, off shankarsheth road, near the IBM building..

they also have a showroom at Deccan near the petrol pump opp. to the park..

When i was there a year back, they used t0o give really good prices as i had been a regular customer..dont know about now though..maybe guys from pune like darklord know their phone number..:)

Sujata has good stuff i.e. latest stuff but his rates r a lil too high. Poonam Comps in Pimpri has the greatest rates I mean no one can beat em but the problem is they stock only stuff that sells. So getting the stuff u need is quite a problem. What I would suggest you is get the regular stuff form a shop that gives u the best deal and the performance parts from any ass who stocks em. Coz if u were in Mumbai u cudve had a choice in Pune there is not much.

Hey guys...

Thank you very much!

I went to Lamington Road 2 days back and bought the system.

The prices were much cheaper than Pune.

But now, I have another problem :(

The 19 inch Samsung 940BW I got has a dead pixel in the upper left area.

Is it better to go to the local Samsung authorized service centre in Pune or to the shop in Lamington road where I got the monitor from?

Hi BiosBhai,

I think it is better to go to Samsung Authorized Service Center with the bill.
Even if you were to go to Lamington they would eventually "transfer " the case to Samsung.

I don't know the number but I do know the location.
Its just next to Ruby Hall Hospital on Sassoon Road. The building's name I think, is Godrej
Mellinium. You will also find a Bajaj showroom there.
