Best deal on 8gb and 16gb microsd cards?

I'm finally upgrading my moto defy from a measly 2gb to 8gb or possibly 16gb :D. I would like to know the best deals on both before deciding.

So what's the best deal on 8gb and 16gb microsd cards?
 
^ I have a verbatim 8gb Micro SD lying with me for around 6 months..

Its not working (giving sector errors), tried contacting verbatim a few times, didn't get good response.

Can you please tell how you got your card replaced and from which center?

Any contact would be helpful :)
 
transcend memory cards are good .using a 16 gig class 4 since 6 months,no probs. also abused as an experimental USB drive (USB card reader).I have formatted it numerous times ,loading bootloaders, fat,fat16,fat 32,ntfs,ext 3 - for making multiboot drive with 10 linux distros. it has taken the beating well and now working fine in my phone.

p.s. it works really good as a usb flash drive read 12 mb/s and writes 7-8 mb/s .

i just get 2-3 MBPS write speed when copying large files on my stock micro sd card with my defy

so can anyone tell me the real benefits of having a class 8/10 memcard over maybe a class 4..??

ive been putting off upgrading my sd card coz class 10 cards are kinda expensive

Class 4 usually has write speeds around ~ 4MB's And the class 10 cards have around 10MB's :)
 
okkay .. but the practical benefits of having higher rw speeds in mobiles.. ??

Faster data transfer. Apps on micro sd card load faster.

According to me a class 4 is enough for mobiles. Unless you are going to do FULL HD video recording on it. :)
 
just plan to record n playback 720p videos .. once the defy becomes fully capable

i keep all my apps on the internal mem ..

i think class 4 will do for now as the size constraint is a bigger problem
