Ergonomically the 60D is a bit better with a top LCD and some nifty buttons. And the 50mm Prime lens that you will inevitably buy as you progress deeper into photography is cheaper in Canon. It's bigger and feels good in hand while shooting.
Without going into much details, image quality wise the Nikon D5200 is superior to the 60D since the former is a newer camera and the 60D still has that age old 18MP sensor. The 24MP sensor in the D5200 handles noise in low light better. Plus it has more auto focus points.
If by any chance you decide on the 60D then do know that a 70D is about to be announced in July. So you might as well hold your purchase.
As a general rule, yes. But the noise handling algorithm that the Expeed 3 sensor in the D5200 applies to photos is superior than the DIGIC 4 in Canon 60D. You also get more detail out of the photos as well even after applying high noise reduction
Just checked out the A58 and its OLED EVF is a big big improvement compared to the LCOS or lcd EVF in the A57/A55.Its just like looking at a really big OVF but with loads more of brightness.Wish my A57 had a OLED EVF.
A58 with kit lens is available for just 29.7k in ebay.in and with 18-135mm lens it costs 39k.
I am confused .. I am just starting out, had a point and shoot camera before...but this is all so very confusing..some of these camera are like 2-3 years old..are they still worth taking?
Well its probably should have been named a A48 ,it has a bigger body then the A38 and it also has the highest shots/charge compared to all other SLT cameras and of course a OLED EVF
@mutant - Check out the A58. Its a new model and its priced very well in India. Has most of the features of its higher priced brethren but at a lower price point.
