Griffin iTrip.

The Xtrememac looks cooler with the LCC but sound quality will be a doubt and I've heard the iTrip and it rocks ;)
 
The itrip is pretty good...tht's what i've been using for the last few weeks, and am pretty happy with it so far..
however, if u have a cassette player in the car, I'd suggest you to go for a casseette adapter as even the el-cheapo chinese cassette adapters (200/- INR) will give you a better quality ....the itrip has good sound quality but is prone to static once in a while....
Sometimes, i get static even when i sound the horn....

Just FYI...the itrip is available for arnd 1.6K street price in chennai, so if a newegg order has some waiting time involved, you may as well buy from here

Most of the folks who ave given low ratings are folks who were unable to find free frequency bands in their area....that of course does not pertain to us folks in India....

As for the itrip sound clarity, it comes very close to line-in quality most of the time...just for the heck of it, i played a MP3 cd and the same song simultaneously on the itrip and tried switching b/w the two...barely discernible difeerence.....

But there's a catch....whay i said most of the time is coz sometimes, while the car is running, I get static when I switch the ac on/off or press the horn...basically any electrical disturbance in the car circuits sometime causes static.....

And it's not funny when you hear your car's horn blaring out in front and hearing it echo from the car's rear (speakers ;) )

o boy..u want to spend 1000+ just on the case....Arre,just wait for a while, max a month, and then you wouldn't be all that particular about being so protective towards ur ipod....

I use a o2 xda cover that i picked up for 200/-...fits very snugly inside..I just had to make a few cuts here & there to gain access to the click wheel

Both look to be the same, the only difference seems to be in the design - one is designed to fit the iPod Mini exactly, the other is designed to fit the iPod.

As you can notice, the first one you put up has a thinner form factor with the earphone jack towards a corner - so it should end up being flush with the rest of the ipod mini. The one designed for the iPod is a bit more bulkier and has the jack in the center.

Both should work with either iPod, except that say you put the iTrip designed for the iPod onto an iPod mini.. you'd find the iTrip jutting out one one edge on account of the headphone jack not being oriented in the same location, you get what i mean ?
 
^I don't have a standard AUX 3.5input jack in my main unit. It has mini AUX input via rear, and finding a connector/cable for such thing is time waste.

That's the best solution but you won't find them on stock units only after market.

The casette adapter would be by second choice as again no interference, but not so pretty. Not that you care, eyes are on the road :P
 
dude i might b interested...if possible do let me know the price.....

I might change my plan to get cowon d2 too ipod touch if i see a decent price.....

btw how much u getting it for?i mean getting it from amazon only?

aah its more than 1k..damn ill stick to cowon d2
