Laptops Best Laptop under 60k?

My friend needs a good laptop under 60k. His preferences are as follows:

1. Processor - Core i7 preferrably or if not that then one with good cache and bus speed

2. RAM - DDR3 RAM if possible in the machine

3. GPU - at least 512MB card.

4. Rest everything can be standard and he doesn't bother much.

Can you suggest anything in this budget? We were looking the new studio 15 with core i7 but that is no more on dell's site now. He is open to all brands.

EDIT: The core i7 on dell's site went from 'Call for prices' to no more available now! :( Anyone aware of this?

For,

1) All the 3 requirements: None is there in Indian market. Well Studio XPS 16 is there, but no core i7 available in that. DDR3 is there. Also GPU is HD3670-512MB, which lower-MID end GPU. And Little bit out of your friend's budget (65K)

US XPS 16 models are now coming with HD4670, ask dell guys whether this option is available in India yet or not.

2) Core i7 : NEW Studio 17

with Core i7 and HD4650 1 GB GPU. But no DDR3. But can be a best choice. But dont know the price

3) DDR3: Acer Aspire 5739g

Check out specs : Acer Home

4) GPU: Best GPU under 60K budget available in India is HD 4650.

HP DV6 notebooks are there, but no DDR3 and with AMD (MAx 2.2 GHz, 1MB cache) processors.

One model 1154tx is there with Intel P8600(2.4GHz, 3 MB cache) and HD 4650 priced at 64-66K IMO now.

BTW, what's the purpose of your friend?

I was informed by Dell that Dell Studio 15 with Core i7 processor is still undergoing engineering test and initial tests are not successful. So anybody looking to buy that will have to wait for another 2 or 3 weeks..
 
Currently HP DV6 with P8700 and ATI 4650, 500gb 7200rpm HDD and 4gb ram costs around 56k...I think it a good deal for gamers...

Yup that's what I had checked on the site but that lappy is no more on the Dell's site now. Don't know when will it be back! 15inch would be better to carry around than 17 inches

Thanks a lot for that info. Well he needs it mainly for heavy programming as well designing work. Also he might play a few games that require MUCH GPU power but won't play that often. He just wanted to get best lappy possible in his budget to do almost everything he wants :)

UPDATE: Just checked the Dell's site and the new studio 17 can be upgraded to:

1. Core i7

2. 8GB DDR3 RAM

3. 1GB HD4650

Price was not mentioned but that's great and he can at least customize now to his needs!
 
Then, it's perfect option. Just check the price with dell guys. I hope it comes at-least under 65K

I also checked DELL for studio 17 ,they told me that its not available because of some incompatibility issues with new windows 7.

great config....... while using take special care of keeping it cool...... though complete cover is still there if required......

Where did u get that config from can u please post the link tried customising but does not offer core i7 or the graphic card that u got
can u give more information on that please
