Best Monochrome Screen Phone? :-)

I require an absolutely basic phone for Calling and SMS

My Requirement -

A. Monochrome Screen for readability under sunlight
B. Good Keypad for typing SMS
C. Long Battery Life

(Does Nokia 1280 fit the bill?)

Axeman! Brother, the phone is meant for me, not my great grandfather! :-)
(Besides Nokia 1280 gives more than double the battery life compared to that of iBall Asaan)

Both Nokia 100 and 101 have color screens. So not these.

Thus, Nokia 1280 appears to be my only choice?

Brother, close your eyes and get the iball senior citizen phone. It has big buttons and very easy to read display :)

Feedback on the iBall phone is not good - look around in various forums.

Get the Nokia b&w display - perfect for sunlight - and service easily available almost every 2nd street in a decent town.

I wasn't sure about the quality of Iball Aasaan, but it looked promising for seniors.

Buy something that has sliced out buttons (Example is Blackberry, all keys are sliced), 1280 has a single keypad divided equally?
Am pretty sure you can get a Nokia 1100, 3310 on Ebay

I don't need to say anything about its durability or ruggedness, you can throw this phone at someone and use it 2 minutes later.

Alternatively, look for Samsung's metro series they have quite big buttons :)
