im getting an ipod touch 4th gen,and i want a solid non-touch QWERTY phone to go with it.one that will handle text messaging, email and telephony well and will not lag or choke when i multitask.

is there anything that i can get beside the nokias (e72/e5)? blackberry is not an option for me because my carrier doesn't support data on it.e72 has too low ram so that leaves just the E5. is there ANYTHING else that i can consider?

What price range?
LG GW550 or the Samsung Omnia Pro B7330 are good phones but are slighty expensive.

Samsung Omnia pro B7320 or B7330 are good enough dude.........

Never go for LG GW550

true but do you guys think windows mobile is still worth getting into?apps for the platform have dried up,and next month we will have wp7.

^^Dude there are no non-touch qwerty phones in android yet..

If you want android check HTC Wildfire or HTC Aria

I think iPhone 4 can handle all those tasks with ease. The keyboard on the iPhone is one of the best i've used on phones, especially in touch screen. I don't see the point in investing in another device. Nokia e72 is a fine choice and I am pretty sure that it will not choke and fail on you when your checking your mail accounts.

BTW, which carrier are you on that it does not support blackberry ?

well i live in new zealand. Here the iphone 4 costs upwards of 50k!that too for 16 gig.dont you think its better to get the ipod touch 32gig+ a phone? the touch has everything the iphone 4 has except gps 3g and 5mp stills.any mid-range phone such as the e5 or e72 has that.I currently have an HTC hd mini which is excellent but i dont want to carry two touchscreen devices. Its kinda hard to type or dial and stuff while driving, gaming etc..I said that about E72 because it has 128mb ram like the n97 mini which i had a dreadful experience with.I sold it in a month.

im on 2degrees NZ which currently does not support blackberries, but they have excellent coverage and wonderful prepaid plans (ISD calls are 44 cents, which is really cheap, and free text messages anywhere in the country).Otherwise id have gotten the BB bold in an instant.
