Best Online Games

I just upgraded my PC and i have a MTNL broadband connection. I am really looking forward to playing online games.

Currently i am playing Trackmania Nations and Unreal Tournament:Game of the Year online.

As i am new to PC gaming especially online gaming, please suggest some nice online games which i can play.
 
depends on the genre. personal faves are quake 3, dota and world of warcraft.

on which server do you play UT anyway? your ping probably sucks considering there aren't any UT servers in India as far as I know.
 
go to your XFIRE profile page. left-down section : TOP GAMES
  1. World of Warcraft
  2. Counter-Strike Source (I play)
  3. Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer (I play via HAMACHI)
  4. Battlefield 2
  5. Counter-Strike 1.6
etc.
But, the problem is, they all need to be original.

You can also play for FREE -
  1. Gunz India (FREE but take lot of data-cap) -fight-
  2. A3 India online -strategy-
etc.

What is dota? and how do u play World of Warcraft online? I suppose it has a monthly subscription based scheme for online play.

I play UT:GOY with my 2-3 friends only and don't really connect to any online UT server.

Yup i have already seen that XFire page, but i want to know the personal experiences of ppl in India, so pls share ur experiences...

and howzz Gunz and A3 India?
 
I can comment on MMO's if you want.

I've played FFXI, w0w, Dark Age of Camelot (Playing it for the last 5 years now), Guild Wars and Planetside.

Most require you to pay an online subscription (Monthly/Quarterly) - of all the above, I would recomment w0w if you're more inclined to the Player Vs Environment aspect, and DaoC if you prefer to kill people in the end game, which affects your ranking (something like Starcraft).
 
Try america's army. its free game. lousy pings on some servers but ping really dont affect this game as much as other online shooters. has real nice lag compensation.

its fun
 
guild wars only requires a one time code purchase. no monthly subscription fee... and its an rpg i would recommend for people starting of with mmorpg's

@iosoft a3 india isnt free anymore but 999 for 6 months.
