Mr India

Forerunner
Currently have a S3 that cant support even basic apps as they lag and make phone slow. works lag free only with no apps installed.

My needs in priority order -

Dual Sim so i carry one phone only.
Stable phone- Do not like restarts and lag and hangs at all. My S3 recently once hanged and shut down at night and i missed waking up for imp. office day so no embarrassing moments like this should happen.
Battery for 1 day full.
Camera should be much much better than in my s3 both front and rear and good low light performance.
Sar rating - should be not more than 0.8w/kg , my s3 has 0.4.
No gaming needed.
Should last 1.5 years atleast, my s3 was good earlier but now even adding fb app slows it down.
Size - preferably similar to my s3 not very big though this can be compromised if no alternate since nowdays we hardly get decent size phones.
Sunlight screen- it should be atleast equal to s3 though s3 itself is not good in sunlight. not lower
Budget and Brands- flexible from 15k to 20k max.for a good one. any brand will do, they all look same anyway.
waterproof- not needed unless it can be operated too underwater for some underwater selfies etc.

Moto X play seems good but heard its processor 615 SD is old tech and is laggy and also that its cam in low light is r bad.

If I was in your place and considering a phone for long term use, I would go for something from a more established brand.

Batteries always run out. You may get drenched in rain, whatever.
And Chinese phones(I am looking straight at Xiaomi here), everything will be blamed on Mainboard and you will be left waiting for a replacement

So I will suggest sticking with Samsung,Sony,LG, Apple an maybe Lenevo and Motorola.

Also I will look at XDA threads, and try and gauge what kind of development and following the phone has.
Go for something which a lot of people have and already love.

And I would go for a SD 410 or SD 801/808/810
Somehow all the phones that 615 finds itself in manage to heat up and somehow the performance premium over SD410 does not seem worth it?

Yesteryear flagships with great camera/ batterylife/ development

Z3 compact
LG G3
Galaxy S5
HTC One M8

Can you stretch for a LG G4/ Moto Style?

If you're looking for lag free experience then go for stock Android options and stay away from Samsung (TouchWiz).
My Galaxy S5 already lags at simple tasks like opening gallery from camera app.
I wouldn't recommend Motorola due to their horrible customer service (via B2X) in India, especially since you're looking for long term options.
Look at Sony phones, they should have decent cameras in your budget.

Moto G3 fits your bill perfectly, much improved camera performance, water splash proof (upto 1 meter), pure android (no hang, no lag),SAR head-.905, SAR body 1.069.. You can spend for better battery but with some lag (blame the half ass cheapset) for Moto X play..There is nothing better than a pure android experience and sameway there is nothing worst than a botched up android experience. Nexus 5 will come into your budget (moto g3 used the same camera tech), you will get bigger battery, better performance, slightly less in battery I guess. All others messed up the whole android experience with skins/UI

so what i have learned from this thread. No SD 615 as overheat so better buy 801/808/810 v2.1

All phone suggested by you are like 25k plus online so out of budget.

Oneplus X has SD 801 and great specs but poor software so wait 3 months ?will their programmer fix it by then like new year ? 1 january i really need new phone max.

Moto G3 seems to be better than Moto X play and quite cheap too. just that it has snapdragon 410.
Lenovo also has 615 processor so again no.

so i guess its between these 2 now. One plus x or Moto g3. Also does Oneplus 2 16 gb come ? cant find it on any website
Also if 615 is better than 410 a lot and moto x play has stock android like moto g3 should i buy that ? im scared that these overheating phone may explode and kill me someday.

read Oneplus X review by gizmodo and they say it has a pathetic camera. i was willing to live with bugs but poor camera is a deal breaker. wish we cud upgrade phone like pc and il just add 1 gb ram to my S3.

But for Oneplus one, there is not going to be any more updates in the near future right???
Official Marshmallow update will be delivered to the One first, ahead of the Two and X, in Q1 2016. And there will be enough support going ahead. It does have a large community following too.

if you are looking for community support, go with One plus one or moto x and Moto G
IF you aren't gonna be changing much or experimenting, try Asus zenfone 2 (4gb ram version), it's not just because of the size of the ram but try reading reviews of note 5 against asus zeonfone 2, ram management in case of asus is much better than even note 5 and that means no lag and battery is in excess of 3600+ mAH so i guess will definitely last 1 day and will have marshmallow update confirmed by Asus. cams are pretty good too with laser autofocus which helps in locking in focus pretty fast !!
Intel proessor IMHO are much better at processing normal task though i doubt their graphical capability as compared to SD processors but again your primary requirement isn't games so Intel suits u better.
