Best place to buy XBOX 360 S?

A friend is looking to buy an XBOX console. What would be the best place to buy one cheap? Prefer to get one with warranty if possible.

Also, I assume that the newer one is a good enough improvement that it doesnt make sense to buy an older version console, right?
 
Not necessarily. The older Arcade is still an excellent value for money console in the market. The 360S does have style and a lot of additional features like built-in larger capacity HDD and Wi-Fi adapter. The cheapest 360S would be the 4GB model which retails for Rs. 14,600 on www.intencity.in. But note that the 360S only has 1 year warranty and no 2 year extended RRoD warranty for it, like the Arcades and older models did. The older Arcade retails for Rs.11,990/- last I checked was Reliance Digital's offer. The 360S has a built in Kinect port which is not present on the older models. So if your friend is leaning towards getting Kinect, this the 360S would be an ideal choice.

Hmmmm...Interesting. So even a newer gen arcade is a decent deal then? Need to go check on his budget and then decide.
 
Pretty much. I own an Arcade for a year now. It's been pretty stable for me so far. Ask him what his main priorities are with the console? Will he be planning to buy Kinect? Is he an online gamer or more of an offline person? If he plans to use Wi-Fi for online services of XBL, then the X360S would be the best option. Else the Arcade, clubbed with a 20GB HDD would be a good option.
 
Get a Arcade Console, if your console dies in next 2 years you will get a Slim :-)

Not necessarily. If they have refurbished stock of the older models left, then they won't give out the 360S. It's like-to-like model refurb first, failing to which another model would be provided.
