hi friends

i am looking to buy an android phone this weekend & confused, have selected Milestone,

but please suggest me the other best possible android phones below 21k.

your suggestions in this regard will be highly appreciated.

thanks in anticipation

If you can get the Milestone under 21K then that is quite a good phone, I guess you can look at the Legend or the i7500 Galaxy (small screen)

yes, a newly opened EZONE store near my place are selling milestone for 21K, its a promotional offer, looking to buy it this weekend but want to keep my options open, if not others then i'll go for Milestone.

depends on the response i get here ..................

to feel the real heat on android 2.2, i would suggest you drop the idea of milestone and instead look at 1ghz and above phones... i am using the HTC Droid Incredible on cdma and trust me, my old moto droid feels sluggish... I am due to get the Samsung EPIC in this week... Galaxy S ahs great reviews too... have you had a look?

you may be right but from wildfire @ 15.5K, i have come to Milestone & increased by budget to 21K.

both Galaxy S & HTC Droid Incredible are costing around 28K odd.

The OP has a specific budget, so its better to advice phones that come within it, the best android under 21K is the question.

Go for the Milestone, its your best bet, else settle for a lower screen size phone and you have quite a few choices there.

Regarding the Froyo needing a 1Ghz - Froyo is known to be 2-5 times faster than eclair on the Desire et al, which logically means it will be "as fast or faster than" eclair on the mid range androids, and lots of people have ported the froyo based Cyanogen mod on the sub GHz phones with absolutely no problem.

I would suggest you to drop the idea of Android, and go for a used iPhone 3GS ( clean piece arnd 22k)/ new Samsung Wave (17k, killer deal) at this price point.

Else, get the milestone, if you are desperate for an android. 21k is a good price. But as many members here have suggested you to buy atleast buy the galaxy S if you wanna experience android at its best.

For 22k, a HTC Legend is possible. It's a bit old compared to the Desire/Desire HD but it gets full marks for build and a snappy OS. And then there are the lower end Galaxy models (dunno much about those)

Just go and get Motorola Milestone. The vanilla android UI on this phone is very good. This one doesn't have a 1GHz processor but in reality the combination of ARM Cortex A8 600 MHz and PowerVR SGX530 graphics makes it a very powerful device.

I am using HTC Legend and installed unofficial Froyo. And it's lot lot faster than the stock 2.1 eclair ROM. It's faster, snappier and easy on resources.

wrong! phones like Legend, milestone provide really good android experience. it's not true that andtroid works well only on 27k+ rupee devices. And please, used iphone 3GS for 22k something better than a brand new android device. huh!

I would totally disagree with the idea of getting a used iPhone. I think anyone who has come to a decision to go Android has thought it through, whereas apple fanboys are not known for having the most rational thoughts.

As for the OP's Budget, I think he has made it quite clear that he has gone from a budget of 115.5k to 21k, so suggesting 27+k phones to him is not helping him out.

In your range it's basically the milestone and the legend. (How much is the XT720?). Out of those two I would pick the milestone - bigger screen, hardware qwerty and I would imagine the Milestone performs better in terms of lag.

The Motorola XT720 should be around Rs 26-27k, and is definitely not worth that price IMHO.
Get the Motorola Milestone (other than possible Custom-ROM loading problems due to difficulty in unlocking the bootloader), it's a steal for that price :) (Esp. for those who prefer h/w keyboards, though admittedly it isn't that good).

Also, it has an IPS LCD screen(3.7") which offers really good contrast ratios. (Supposing that both Droid and Milestone have the same screen, can anyone confirm ?), so a good enough alternative to the 3.2" AMOLED that HTC Legend comes with. (Also would have much better legibility under direct sunlight)

HTC Aria should be launching at a sub 20k price point, fairly good specs. Legend is a bit overpriced at 22k, its multimedia capabilities are not that good, mine still has the audio sync issue in playing videos.

If you are fine with not messing around with the phone too much and going with official updates, I think the Milestone would be a pretty solid choice.

HTC Aria is exactly like Wildfire, not much difference, little increase in screen resolution & almost negligible increase in processor speed and @ 20k its a big no no, tabhi to wildfire ko NO-KIA :)

Its upto him, personal choice. As an apple fanboy, a used iPhone is my advice. Its has got the features, iOS, the social *bling bling* and thousands of apps for it, also having a great resale value and the best touch experience IMO. I agree milestone and legend have better features, but the feel of an iphone is completely different. Get one !

Also, the resale of the milestone and legend would be way down, as their are very few buyers for these brands.
