i am in need of purchasing a printer cum scanner..budget 5k.... i need the best value for money ...... nd no high refilling/ink catridge cost in the future..

kindly suggest the best printer cum scanner in 5 K range..

What's ur usuage? Remember if u don't use it often the the cartridge will dry up for Inkjet printers

Are u ok with inkjet?
 
Does laserjet doesnt dry up?

But you need to take more than 4k print out per month na what about people who take few 100s?

When u buy a lser printer u don't need to take 4k prints per month:)...in fact u can afford to take none also:)

but in case of an inkjet u need to print a couple in a few days so the ink doesn't dry up...

even if u are printing 100+ pages per month I suggest u go for a laser printer. It will work out to be cheaper in the long run.

Inkjet is for ppl who take out...say 10 pages per week or less

Thanks for en lighting.I was really unaware about this fact.

Also whether lasr printer can work fine with not being used for 3-4 months?
 
Nope.... U get toners in the mkt but u would need to go to a shop to refill it. Refill can be done only once or twice.

But with 100 pages per month... ur cartridge can last for 3 years + with 2 refills
