Best war movies/series in your opinion?

Great thread for instant movie recommendations. I was googling for movies and series on netflix. Not anymore.

I'm gonna make an oblique recommendation for a war series: The Wire. It is one of the best series I've ever watched and I hope it counts :)
 
Beasts of No Nation: set in Africa and how young kids are lured into fighting mindless wars, Idris Elba is in the cast.
The Elite Squad: About drug war in Brazil, this was the first time I came across Wagner Moura, and never forgot.

Among the ones already mentioned Band of Brothers would be one of my all time favourites. But these movies are largely western pov, want to watch more independent cinema about wars.
