Eureka Forbes RO Smart looks to be a good option if ur water quality is really bad. But most of these days due to stringent norms of municipalities water is pretreated. If u live in such an area where u get pretreated water, then all u need is AQUAGUARD ULTRA. this doesnt require electricity and uses nano filtration. Nano filtration is a better technique as compared to RO.
The RO membrane, with it's dense material makeup will allow certain low molecular weight(very small) particles to pass through it. Larger, heavier molecules cannot pass through the membrane and are left behind and flushed away. If the pressure applied to the input tap water is properly maintained, the osmotic pressure of the membrane is overcome and small portions of purified water begin to "squeeze" through the membrane.
You can expect gradually decreasing water purity from the first day---since the membrane is susceptible to chemical and bacterial action as well as water pressure, temperature and pH(water acidity or alkalinity).
So proper maintenance is essential and also tedious. Also u wont realise when the water quality deteriorates to unpalatable quality. Nano filter has no such problems. The only prob with this method is that filter gets choked. It is actually an advantage as even if the membrane is non functional bad quality water wont come out.
This will fit ur budget also.
Other option is to go for a simple charcoal water purifier. It is a time tested technology and has proven to be viable in most cases. more info out here:

Simply put it is the unit with blue casing which is present in most old aquaguards. It is the first unit in old aquaguard filters. I dont know where it can be purchased separately. But that one unit in itself is quite adequate for normal water quality purification requirements.
