Forum Feedback Between a rock and a hard place

I usually try not to stir up a topic for debate, however for my love for TE, I have to put this across as feedback.

First of all, I feel this dealers market is more work for the mods, and headaches. This according to me has caused lot more grief and has time and again caused more points for discussion which leads me to believe this is a classic case of a problem child.

By being paid members of TE, they essentially put the TE mods in a position they may not be comfortable with. From their opinions on off line dealings of dealers to moderation of posts and topics which denounce dealers or put some in an unfavorable light. I feel the mods are not being able to play an objective role in this kind of situation.

My aggravation starts when http://www.techenclave.com/market-feedback/best-dealer-in-techenclave-140567.html thread is closed. Why on earth should this be closed?

Dark Star, While I understand you may have the best of intentions at heart, I hate to bring this point up.

TE and its member does not discriminate dealers .

I understand that TE might want to take a stand for nondiscrimination against its dealer, however, why me as a member not have the right to discriminate, make my choice, voice my comment? It is as good as violating my right to free speech where I discuss which dealer is good. No one was bashing any dealer, or anything bad was said against anyone in that thread. It was just a normal discussion which has come to a stop because it is about a few dealers which operate on TE who have the site's endorsement.

Tell me mods, with honesty, that this dealer thing does not interfere with your objective ruling and I will drop this argument right here.

All the dealers here at Te are one of the best and well informed you can come across in India. TE and its member does not discriminate dealers .All of them have provided great deal to Te and its members and all the dealers here are very reliable and trustworthy.

So reliable and trustwothy dealers are scared of a feedback thread?

Really, not trying to be an ass abt it, but its really funny how threads are being closed the second a dealer is "Very Very unhappy About It"..

And Nothing personal against anyone mentioned here just against the way things are going..Why cant our "Best and wel informed dealers" digest a Poll?

Time and again I have repeated this and still this point comes up, which it makes me really sad. But I will repeat it again.

We do not charge the dealers becoz TE needs money, we charge the dealers becoz we want that to act as a deterrent to opening shop on TE. We dont need that money, but since its coming we invest it back into building the community. We dont have any obligation to the dealers. But as a moral obligation they should get a fair sale since they are paying. And thats where the line is drawn. No mod is under any obligation just because the dealers pay TE.

Dont know about the poll as I feel that it might not be required. You can check the popularity of the dealer with his itrader rating too. That is all that should concern a buyer.

And yes initially we had the plans to hold a vote, and then based on itrader and voting results, boot the dealer with dismal performance. That was to control the number of dealers and keep quality ones only. That was very very long back.

Though on a lighter note, the PS in amarbir's post was damn hilarious. I mean cmmon.. you come back after 10 minutes to summarize your post in a PS.

You saw that in a contest we held a month back and you will see more of it by the end of the year in some other form.

I would also like to add that we could see this being dragged to no definite result. If you see the records of "TE Dealers" on TE most of them have a spanking clean record. So in the end all those who have bought stuff from the dealers will post positively about them. How can you compare between a dealer who has done 20 deals with 20 satisfied customers with one who has 100 deals with 100 satisfied customers. In the end its a 100% record but you wont be able to gauge that by a poll. Wouldn't that be unfair to the dealers who have done lesser no of deals.

I would go ahead and ask members to rather start a thread where a particular member is left unsatisfied by a dealer. Bring your case forward and i promise you there won't be a single mod closing your thread. Cause i am sure more of us would be looking forward to know about that rather then the other way round.

Also to the comment which is questioning us in a compromising situation well i would seriously ask the members to do a little bit of search(as in the TE history) and you will find out where exactly we stand(stood) in the eyes of our dealers. We constantly try to make TE Dealer market as "member" friendly as possible. I would not like to take names here but trust me there are more dealers unhappy with TE mods rather then the other way round and if you can trust us then we make sure that our members interest comes before of anything else.

^^I understand that, in all fairness and I take your, renegade and safin's word on how you run this. I have had no other qualms and I know while difficult, TE is one of the most well managed forums I have seen in quite some time.

I just feel they (dealers) are being given some sort of unintentional advantage. How about a poll on this

Also, I agree that general threads should not be reqd. The itrust ratings and feedback on individual buyer-seller issue should suffice.

I Will Tell You Why I did Not Want The Poll ,Might Be In Some Cases You Have Not Dealt with a Dealer and By Seeing Threads You form a Opinion ,Then Because Of That Perticular opinion You Vote ,Now How Is That Justified .Secondly I think You will Agree On Record That We All Dealers Here Have Our Own Ways of Dealing And Getting Deals ,Most of The Dealers Never Participate In General discussion .But We All Are Better Then Your cities Next door Dealer Who does Not Know Anything and even If He is Knowing something, he is not concerned much ,We take time to get a deal ,make a deal and then execute a deal .Let me give you a simple example

1 :Material cost me Rs :100 for Example
2 :I Sell For Rs :110/- "Cos if i Like To Sell For More i Cannot Cos Either you will Not Buy or Other Dealer Will Quote Less "
3 :I Invest time And Resources To Make a Deal Here, PM You And All ,Lets Assume i Get a Order
4 :I Pack That Stuff "None of You Can imagine what packing cost it is today " ,Try going to the market and get packing material you will know how much it costs
4 :Then We Pack And We Go Ourself to the Courier And dispatch The Stuff .

How Much Money is Made By The end Of It .Anyways If You Really Think That None Of Us Or Some Of Us Do Not Deserve To Be In TE ,Well Just Speak Out As We Have a Clean Record Of Our Online Sales ,Troubles in Business ,Delays ,Wrong Shippings ,DOA Material Are all Part and Parcels of Business ,But Some People On The Forum are Very Young And Raw In Business Dealing ,They Get Aggressive And Try To Create a Atmosphere That is Unpleasent To Both Parties "Seller And Buyer" and Also TE And Its MODS .
I Will Like To Give You An Example That Will Be solved By Me and Another member of The forum ,I Will Not Take His Name Cos i See No Reason in That Because i Know We Can sort it Out and I Am Not in Hurry ,I Have Some Material That is Not Partially But Completely Damaged Worth Rs :4K From That Fellow ,Now He is Busy And I Can understand That So There is No Rush And No Fuss .

Mostly i Have Seen That Young People Like To Negicate ,Pay Instantly And Want Shipping Instantly And Also Delivery ,But This in Most Cases is Not Valid And Possible .We Too Are Members Of Techenclave And Proudly TE Dealers Too,I Can Proudly Make a TE Shirt Saying "We Are Proud To Be TE Dealers " And Wear it In Front of the IT Minister .Now To Ask Who Has Given This TAG To Us ,You As a Community Has Given ,Lets Take A Example Of Itrader Rating ,The Itrader Rating i get is less then Anyone In TE But My Delivery of Material To Members is Intense .Sometimes i Cannot Count The Number of Parcels i Have To Send in a Day ,Well i Was Not Getting Any Itrust Rating ,then One Fine Day i Ordered Some Material From KMD and figured Out That We Have a Very Nice System For Taking Itrust Ratings ,Well i Immediately Followed and Adapted the Style He Had i Learnt From Him As My Senior in Business And Itrader Ratings starting Poping up .So i himble Request To All Fellow Members Of TE ,Pintch Us Poke us ,Do Whatever To Us For Getting New And Good Deals But For Heavens Sakes Do Not Create A Atmosphere That Makes Us Little Nervous And Shivery ,This Makes us Less concentrate on Business And Serve You .
