PC Peripherals between these 2 cards, which better please

For music its HDA X-Mystique all the way. Especially if u plan to connect it via coax/optical. For games the audigy2 zs is better only if you plan to connect via analog.

hey chaos, any idea about the analog quality of the x-mystique? (compared to the audigy)

Most reviews say that subjectively it seems to be good but quantitatively i'm yet to see anything. Didn't find rightmark graphs in any review. Strange :S. Now if analog is of concern, its best to go for the X-Fi if you want a good gaming card. Prices have already fallen to 115-120$ levels for the cheapest model.

Man, what gives people ideas about buying Audigy platinum cards ? There's absolutely no difference in the build of Platium and normal Audigy cards.

True.... only the I/O ports..... Not much else is different.

But in the X-Fi range, many of the basic components are different from the lowest end cards to the high end Fatality cards.

Elite pro and audigy4 share the same dac - 4 pairs of CS4398. The EMU cards also have this DAC iirc. The rest of the X-Fi cards, A2 ZS (and the platinum bullshit) share the same dacs - CS4382-KQ. Not that this dac is bad... but its not in the same class as the CS4398.

secondly if you have a budget of 10k why are you wasting your money on Audigy crap ?
Better get a non resampling audio card like M audio Revo or something in it's range. The best bet would be an EMU 0404, if you have someone from the US to buy it for you. Audigys are not recommended for music. Period.
