Beware from July 7, 2014 sellers will receive their remittance as per the Remittance Member Status assigned to them, So if you are in need of Money urgently don't list on eBay as you will not get money back at least after 20 - 30 days.

So as per their new rule, Sellers will be split into 2 categories, Platinum & Silver. If you are a Power Seller you probably already are in the Platinum Remittance group and there would not be any change for you and it would work normal ( Remittance every Tuesday & Friday)

But if you (i think all of us would) fall under the Silver Remittance Group then our payments will be made 14 Days after Delivery Confirmation.

Example, I listed a product on eBay on 25th July as per a members request, got payment confirmation on same day, Shipped it to him on 26th July, he confirmed receipt on 31st July, If it was the old way I would have got the remittance on 1st August (Friday) but since i am not a Power Seller / meet their criteria of Above Standard Seller, I am now going to get my remittance on 18th August 2014. :banghead:

This is a big issue for me, and i am sure it will be for others too, I was not aware of this change and got caught in it, if i was made aware / would have found out about it then i would not have listed on ebay. For me & all small sellers out there, this new change is a big suckerpunch, where the big sellers can enjoy quick remittance, its the little ones like us who will suffer.

I was wondering the same thing till yesterday as I had sold something last month and not received the payment. After a lot of searching, I found out what you have just posted.
I got the payment from ebay today

Ebay has lost all his charms
First of all the juice all the malai taking 10 percent in their pockets...which is way to high these days..
Even if u are top rated seller with 1000 positive feedback and a buyer with a zero feedback recently opened account ebay will go in his favour, even if the seller grounds are higher and much stronger...
Ebay is a buyer orientated company where sellers are like deaf ears...
And with the ebay guarantee Claim which is a Big Pain in Sellers A$$ lots of newly opened account buyers apply for bogus claims...

Its a risk these days selling on ebay for high value product u dont know when a stupid buyers opens a bogus claim and you have your remittance on hold with ebay...

Its run buy a bunch of morons who cant even talk proper english

They are just milking their commission

But the fact of the matter is , Ebay works well and its safe to buy / sell as long as you know what you are getting into.
I tried OLX/ Quickr but I hate talking to low ballers most of the time and they call at odd times or you are busy at work or in a meeting. Plus the fact of meeting up at a common place etc.
Ebay is a smooth medium without too much hassle. Sure there charges have gone higher and ebay guarantee is not good for sellers but I prefer it to any other medium to sell.

As Said Earlier only good for Buyers
For Sellers is like Nightmare, dont know when a uneven Claim is opened against you..

They did send an email to everyone with details about these changes.
@OP - Did you not get that email. I knew of the changes even before the email because I regularly check their notices and policy changes.
Currently I have Platinum status because I usually ship out the stuff the same day and it gets delivered within 2 days. This ploy is being used, IMO, to get back via interest, what they lose when they give out those big coupons. I had recently mentioned that I was looking to start a similar venture but with low selling fees than eBay and in order to keep the fees low, this was the strategy I had come up with. With the surplus cash, one can open a FD for one week and use that interest to gain profit rather than charge high fees from seller. Win-win situation for both parties.

^But if I am not wrong you cannot keep client's money for a longer duration
One week is more than enough for a decent margin if the sales are high enough.
Also just like eBay, if you make it a policy, then either the sellers agree to it or don't sell it on your site. With low fees, I think most major sellers won't have a problem with that.

@rdst_1 No i didn't get any emails, I opted out of them as most of the emails they sent weren't relevant to me as i don't sell stuff on eBay regularly so I consider such things as spam.
most members here don't ship stuff everyday only when they want to upgrade / are in need of money, so most of them would not have an above standard rating for Platinum. I just think it is a problem for the small sellers, eBay is now keeping my money without my consent, First of all they don't give an option to manually withdraw which is an issue in itself then they are hold the money for 14 days earning interest on it but still continue to charge us 4% money + whatever else listing fee to sell stuff.

I am a small seller, silver and I received the email. What ebay supposed to do if you have opted out from seller mailing list?

Even I am a small time seller. Only have a rating of 15. Yet I got Platinum status, because of my quick shipping and delivery times.
Also if you guys didn't receive email, the announcement was made and visible on the account page as well.

All you people who are miffed about this, what would be your preferred model. Higher fees like eBay (around 6.2% at the very least) but quicker remittance or low fees (say 3% plus service tax) with remittance after a week from delivery of the product.

I think normal people like you and me are much more empathetic towards customer sentiments than monolithic organizations like Ebay.

There are always two sides to the story. Dealing with people on forums, like we are accustomed to, and a normal consumer are two different things.
People lowball, even on eBay. And then they circumvent the rules to save money. I have 15 transactions on eBay and almost 4 times more off eBay. They ask for contact details and then call, haggle and then deal directly so that eBay gets nothing. Some people piss me off so badly that I just want to teach them a lesson by not shipping the product after receiving the money.
Then there are those consumers who, despite every detail provided in the listing, have to ask everything again. And later the same people open case against the seller, just because they didn't read the listing properly.
Considering one is running a business to earn profit, all these things take a toll. There is a thread on TE right now where people want to contact the seller on Snapdeal. The only way I see these percentages coming down is if people become comfortable with reading the listing and connecting via email or IMs. Otherwise call center costs alone are more than enough to warrant such tactics and higher fees. Even in the US, eBay fees are pretty high.
