DOCOMO has blocked Opera Browsers on its network from 9th April to 13th April (Atleast thats what the Chat support says)

I have personally been unable to use Opera on my 2G connection from around 8th or 9th April

Other people are also facing this same issue, can people here post their experiences?

If you are on DOCOMO, try

a) Navigating to the Opera Download site

<
If you have Opera installed, try browsing on it and post is successful or not

DOCOMO Chat support admits that Opera has been blocked, yet denies a refund/validity extension citing a "Handset related issue"

Upto now, DOCOMO has generally been very transparent with its plans, and refunded falsely activated VAS charges without much of an issue, but if their latest policy is to block services and blame them on the customers, I would certainly avoid them in the future

This is the 2nd time they have done such a stunt, and I'm not waiting around for the 3rd time. Are you? (I'll not be recharging my number again once the talktime runs out, and am shifting back to Airtel)

Are all non-native browsers blocked?

As per chat support only opera browsers are blocked and any attempts to download Opera browsers will also be blocked

Some people are also saying that post restoration, Opera data will be charged at 3x

Can you suggest a decent non native free browser for Nokia N79, I'll try it out

Mini seems to be working but cannot download opera mobile from opera home page through the native browser.

Weird but why this FUP now?

Is it because opera reduces the data usage?

If that is true then i too will tell my sister to shift to mtnl 3g or uninor.

There are 2 opera browsers mini and mobile. Are both of them blocked?

Is there any way to mask them as native browser?

What the floody hucking bell?

Why are they doing it? Too bad its India, else I would'be loved to participate in online counter attack a la anonymous.

BTW, can we mask it like Opera's desktop version?

What the Eff? Have they gone bonkers? Jeesus chirst these companies are getting wayyy to desperate for my liking. Rase the call rates if you're going hungry, but for gods sake, dont come up with stupid things !

I thought I had corrupted my phone when this happened. They should have informed the customers before pulling off this stunt. Moves like this herald the total privatization of the internet. With every company in the business of Telecom forcing customers to either pay a lot more or get little value for present 2g data plans!
