To tell you the truth Anand, and its my opinion only, the fault is partly yours also. Did you ask the seller for pictures of the product ? There is a rule in the market section, and it's there for a reason. And the reason is to avoid similar situations like these. I am sorry to be blunt, but it's for your own good only. This is my recommendation to everyone on the forums. Do not deal via PM's alone. If you decide to do it, do it at your own risk, but at least have the common sense to make sure the deal is genuine. make sure you ask for a picture before doing any money transfer. If the seller gives you excuses like "can't find my camera, will send pictures later" etc. wait. Don't be hasty.

I am pretty sure now nothing can be done about your deal. All the mods can do is i guess ban the guy. Nothing more. And who here can confirm what he is saying is false ? I mean for all we know, what he said is perfectly true. As quoted in courts, there is reasonable doubt. So you can;t do anything. Just be careful in the future.

Just my 2 paisa :P

Thanks for the reply. And I am not asking for put the seller in Jail. This is to alert the MODs as well as other buyers in future deals. And I am very well know what did I do wrong and right.

I have seen kings of frauds even in direct dealing (with product in hand).also. And if people dont have ethics and honesty, they will never feel any guilt. Those are that kind of breed. Nothing to do on them other than pity.

There are millions of selling and buying happening ouside this forum. Many many on the word 'trust'.

^^ what if the seller clicks abc model's photo and sends the xyz model??

Then you are sure you have been cheated. But in this case, the buyer did not confirm whether the product was to his liking or not. Maybe what the seller is saying is true, "Maybe". If the buyer had seen the picture of this fan and found that it was not what he required, he would have canceled the order then and there mostly. I know the method is not foolproof, but would you stop doing it just because some people will work around it ? No. Because it adds a layer of security, which will remove some of the frauds, if not all. Software companies don't keep blacklisting cracks, keys, even though they know some people will work around it very very soon, but they keep doing it just stop at least a few pirates.

If you do, then consider that you paid a small price for learning what you did wrong and use this to be safer in your future deals.

Again i say, no method is foolproof. All security measures are made by human beings, and all fraudsters are human too. So well, there are loopholes everywhere. Hell, people go to the extent of changing the outer appearance and the seller does not even know what is actually inside. But does that mean you will stop being careful ? The problem in your deal was simple. You ordered an item on blind trust. Many people do that. And its fine to a certain extent. But sometimes instead of being a trusty sheep, it's better to be a careful b**ch (Sorry for this :ohyeah:). And if you stop being careful just because others are not, then well, nothing can be done. I understand trust is needed in all deals, whether on the record or off it. But trust only to a certain extent, and protect your interests too. The seller was careful enough to wait for you to send the money before dispatching the items, so you in turn have to be careful enough to "try" and confirm if the product you are paying for is genuine and to your liking.

I am sure people will now be wary of this seller in the future, and mods will tag him too. Send them the information of the guy if you haven't already (Name, Phone Numbers, Bank Account details etc.

Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to chide you. I am only pointing out your mistakes so you don't repeat them in the future. Remember, not everyone is ethical. Also like trust, even being careful is a two way thing. if the seller expects you to send the money in advance, the least he can do is to show you what he is selling is genuine.

Aaahhh. Longest post i have written after so long. That too after just waking up :P So excuse me if i sound grumpy.

User banned and blacklisted. A shame really for a measly 100 bucks

 So true!

Besides this longlife guy, he's this weird hbit of lowballing like crazy on others' trades. Happened to me a couple of times. I seldom reply to his posts. Something tells me he's a sort of a local dealer.
